Public adjuster regulations in Tennessee

• In Tennessee, public adjuster fees are capped at 15% of your settlement. Tiered cap (Tenn. Code § 56-6-913): 15% on the settlement amount when the contract is signed before the insurer's initial offer; 25% of the additional settlement obtained when the contract is signed after a carrier offer; 10% on total-loss catastrophic claims when the home is 100% mortgaged.
• Contract cancellation: 3 business days from contract signing. Rescission must be in writing and delivered to the public adjuster's address in the contract. Anything of value given by the insured must be returned within 3 business days of cancellation.
