Public Adjusters in Michigan
Michigan public adjusters — formally called "adjusters for the insured" — help homeowners and businesses with property damage claims from winter storms, ice dams, hail, wind, fire, and water damage across Detroit, Grand Rapids, and the rest of the state. Michigan caps public adjuster fees at 10% of the insurer's settlement (MCL 500.1226), requires a $1,000 bond, and mandates the use of a state-approved Letter of Representation contract. Continuing education is not required for adjuster license renewal.
