• In New York, public adjuster fees are capped at 12.5% of your settlement. Fees are capped at 12.5% of the recovery for services rendered on a claim (11 NYCRR 25.7). A public adjuster may charge up to 20% on a supplemental claim, provided the aggregate fee remains at or below 12.5% of the full claim payment. The fee is computed on monies paid by the insurer after the insured retains the adjuster.
